About the event
Soul Sessions: Rose Tea Ceremony
June 8th 4 - 6.30
An afternoon of ritual to meet the magic and beauty of Rose. Breathwork - Movement - Rose Journey - Guided Bodywork Exchange
This is a space to drop beneath the layer of the everyday, to be nourished by yourself and in community. Gathering together to drop our social selves to be seen in our truth can be incredibly supportive and celebratory. Allowing ourselves to be seen in our unique human expression and the commonality of the human experience. We will use movement, breathwork and meditation as tools to welcome us into the space.
Journeying with everyday plants such as Rose, can be as insightful and profound as psychedelic plant journeys with the advantage of it being a more gentle process. It requires a willingness and commitment to drop into our bodies and our sensations in order to tune to the plants’ level. This is a subtle and deep way of listening. You will be introduced to this way of listening through working with the physical plant, a tea meditation and a guided bodywork exchange.
In our modern world, touch can often be put into the context of giving or receiving a massage/ therapeutic practice or in an intimate container. This type of touch is none of those things. It is an invitation to be present and witness another person with your hands, a listening touch. You will be guided through this part of the journey with this part of the workshop aimed at integrating all that we would have explored through the plant. As Bessel van Kolk says, ‘The body holds the score’.
This workshop is a living ritual, a time to drop into ourselves and into the temple of Rose.
What to expect:
OPENING We'll begin with an energy cleanse (smudging) and a group meditation to set the space and intentions. You'll then be guided through some gentle movement to ease into a more embodied experience, followed by grounding breathwork to help you relax into deeper awareness.
WORKING WITH ROSE This guided plant journey will be woven by us as a group, exploring how we each receive the plant. It is a deeply embodied practice that invites our imaginative, creative child like selves to play. Rose can reach beyond our everyday selves, expand our hearts, and offer us a space to listen within.
BODYWORK EXCHANGE Working in pairs you will be guided through a simple bodywork exchange. This is an invitation to allow
the presence of your touch to help another soften into receiving more of themselves. This part will be guided, you don’t need any prior experience, just the willingness to be present with yourself and another.
INTEGRATION & CLOSING Towards the end we'll have a check-in and integrate by grounding back into the group experience through movement, breathwork, and/or meditation (whatever is required on the day to make sure everyone feels fully grounded before leaving the space). We'll end with a closing meditation to seal the ceremony. Everyone will receive a follow-up email the following day in case you have questions, insights to share, or need further support.
